Our
Vision
Reaching
and Teaching
-
Just Like
Christ
Though
we are a Small
Church,
we have a Big
Heart! We strive to provide people with an
accessible way to worship God, a comfortable place to bring their friends, and a
sensitive, creative community they can belong to - one that is wise enough not
to get in the way of the task at hand: reaching and teaching people for
Christ. To best illustrate who we
are, we've chosen the following acronym:
Holiness:
Because
we are not the Church without God
Encourage:
Because God offers hope for life's issues
Adoration:
Because
we celebrate the life we have in Christ
Relevant:
Because
Jesus meets people where they are
Truth:
Because
only God’s truth sets us apart from the world
Our
Goal
To
make a difference in our community and around the world by meeting people at
their need and helping them become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Our
Strategy
To
Surrender
to Christian Membership
To
Seek
Spiritual Maturity
To
Serve
Christ in Ministry
To
Send
People to Missions
Sunday Worship
Celebration:
Specifically geared to
convey the message of Jesus Christ in a needs-centered, culturally relevant,
purpose-driven manner. Careful attention is given to creatively communicate the
truths of Scripture, using drama, music, and messages that address life's
issues, without compromise. We find the Sunday morning worship service a
fantastic time for our members to invite their friends who would not normally
come to a more traditional church service.
LifeQuest: A variety of small group studies during the week specifically designed to enhance personal, marriage and family development.
Our
Mission
Worship:
To Celebrate
- Through personal worship by regularly spending quality time alone with God.
- Through corporate worship which meaningfully leads to a greater love and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Through
individual and corporate prayer which is the energizing and sustaining power of
the Christian life.
Evangelism/Missions: To Communicate
- Through sharing Christ by our lifestyle and relationships with nonbelievers.
- Through training and motivating believers to effectively share the gospel with those around them.
- Through supporting and being involved in mission causes both locally and around the world.
- Through
starting and supporting at least one new daughter church every seven years.
Discipleship: To Educate
- Through calling new believers to join a local church and to follow Christ through baptism.
- Through involving believers in the consistent study and application of Scripture.
- Through Biblical instruction for maturity in personal, professional, and family life.
Ministry: To Participate
- Through identifying individual Spiritual Gifts and seeking opportunities to serve.
- Through training, application, and accountability leading to a balanced Christian life: Personal, Family, Leadership, and Biblical studies.
Community: To Associate
- Through creating opportunities to genuinely share life with other believers.
- Through developing a community of believers who love one another unconditionally.
- Through
encouraging every member to participate in at least one small group (Bible)
within our church.
HHCC
is a purpose-driven church
What
makes a church purpose-driven?
Purpose-driven churches pay careful attention both to what structures get
focused attention, and the sequence in which they are developed.
The
structures in place for God's purposes to be achieved
include:
*
A core team unified in purpose and specific vision for this
church.
*
A supporting set of relationships with prayer partners, financial partners, and
strategic partners.
*
A worship service that facilitates rather than hinders a person's journey to
faith. This includes the necessary
support of an effective children's program during the worship service, a team of
greeters, and a dynamic worship team.
*
A
multiplying network of small groups geared toward deeper commitment to Christ
and equipping for service.
*
A simple decision-making structure that encourages
life-change.
Thank
you for allowing us the opportunity to share who we are. We may be small, but our hearts are
big.
Our
desire is to make a difference in the lives of our community by serving and
sharing Christ with our friends and coworkers. For us, that means following Christ's
example of reaching people at their need and teaching them to be fully devoted
followers of Jesus Christ.
